How to Wash Your Hair Systemhair system wash female

Regularly washing your hair system will keep it looking healthy, shiny and clean. At the Hair Specialist we recommend shampooing your hair system 1-2 times, depending on need. Be sure and use one of our recommended shampoos to protect your hair system from unnecessary damage and to restore natural oils. Before washing your hair system, brush the hair from the crown forward and down from the sides and back. Run water through your hair system in the same direction you brushed it, this will prevent tangling and breakage. Emulsify a dime size drop of shampoo in the palms of your hands in order to form a lather. Finally work the shampoo through the hair in the same direction it has been brushed and rinsed. Avoid scrubbing as this can break the bonds of the hair and cause damage at the cuticle.

How to Condition Your Hair System

Conditioning your hair system will lock in moisture and prevent breakage. Emulsify a dime size drop of conditioner in the palms of your hands, and one again apply the conditioner in the same direction as you initially brushed your hair piece. Be careful not to under or over rinse the conditioner to ensure optimal results.
How to Dry Your Hair System
Once you have washed and conditioned your hair, it’s time to dry your hair system. Blot the hair system carefully by pressing down on it with a towel. If your hair system is adhered to your head, allow your body temperature to return to normal before brushing. This will protect the integrity of the bond. If removable, carefully roll the hair piece into a towel and push down to absorb excess moisture. Spray in leave-in conditioner, brush gently and prepare to style your hair system.
There you have it! Your hair system is now clean and ready to style. Be sure and use leave-in conditioner daily to hydrate your hair system and restore any moisture that is naturally lost throughout the day.
